As a demand for Renewable Energy expands, SolarTec USA wants to give you the best training possible and enable you with the tools that will lead you into a cleaner, self sufficient, better tomorrow.

SolarTec USA, a leading provider of solar and thermal products is committed to providing more than just reliable solar systems.

Our monthly training courses are created to provide our students with the knowledge and tools to enter the solar industry. Unlike many other training courses, our two day class will build more then just the basic knowledge of installation. It is designed to build a platform and foundation for the students to come back and discover the other areas of the solar world.

The first day starts out with an in depth over view of core materials that are displayed in the NABCEP Exam. Our Instructor, of over 10 years of solar experience and NABCEP certified, will guide students in the understanding and comprehension of the technical aspects of installation. Small quizzes and tests will be taken through the course to insure that all topics are fully understood.

Our second day training class will be primarily hands on and will require our students to be involved in all aspects of the installation process. Our instructor will guide the students, step by step, from evaluating the roof to physically attaching the panels onto the fast jacks.

Students will receive a certificate of completion after finishing the two day course. This certificate is to acknowledge their understanding of the fundamental theory and training in Photovoltaic Systems. They will be able to be on job sites and understand what actions are taking place. We still recommend practice with other training professionals. This is an introductory course, not to be mistaken as a full training course.

This course covers core material required to pass the C-46 state solar contractors exam and the North American Board of Certified Electrical Practitioners exam (NABCEP).

The upcoming course will be held on February 11, 2012, at our Van Nuys training center.

The class schedule is as follows: Part 1 of course: Solar Theory ( 8 am to 12 pm) The first portion of the class will cover the following topics:

System components- Products used to build a on-grid or off-grid system . Students will understand all components involved in their lab.

System Analysis- Students will be asked to bring a copy of their electrical bill. An example of an electrical bill will be evaluated in class. Students will learn to read the needed information on their bills to construct an analysis of the needed load. This is needed to know how big the system is going to be. Forms and examples will be given as part of the student packet.

Making a kit. From the panels to small components like wire and MC4 connectors will be reviewed. This course evaluates what they need to take into consideration and look at efficiency ratings.

We will touch base on electrical array diagrams. This class is a beginners class but electrical aspects of solar is very important. Background in electricity will be helpful.

Part 2 of Course- ( 1pm to 5pm) Hands-on Training on Installation of PV Solar Systems. (One system will be installed during the class) This portion is going to tie in the information of the first part of training. All students must be able to to carry 40 lbs. The lab goes as follows:

Analysis of the roof condition- Roofs need to be less than 10 years old. Students on field must take into consideration the weight of the system is going to put on a roof.

Analysis of the rafter and installation of the racking system.

Installation of the solar panels

electrical connections

off grid connection components

testing of the system
